My passion is home.
Home as an environment, but more so home as a feeling. I have always had an eye for design and a love of beautiful spaces but I never allowed myself to think of it as an actual career option. So I followed a different potential career path and after earning my Bachelors (Earth Science, emphasis on geology and a minor in paleontology - yep, I did that), I landed a job working as a college volleyball coach.
While I loved it for so many reasons, I could sense right away this was not my path. I was already helping my parents with their remodel (lucky for me) and in my spare time I would be scrolling for hours on end through Pinterest creating design boards for every person I knew and planning out how I’d design their home if I ever got the chance. Then I realized that my actual paying job started to feel like it was detracting from my happiness and keeping me from something that felt really big.
I decided it was time to take a risk.
So I quit my job to pursue my true passion and Rachel Hadley Interiors was born!

Meet interior designer, Rachel Hadley - Metlen.
Whether it’s a one room makeover or a large scale remodel, my passion is delivering you a finished product that feels like the most authentic representation of you. My design style at this point in my career has been heavily influenced by my travels to Italy and France as well as by the cozy small town in the Sierra Nevada mountains where I grew up. This influence is reflected in my love of natural materials like stone and wood combined with my preference towards an organic and approachable feeling in the home that is accomplished through the use of nature inspired color palettes, materials, and layered textiles.
Since I started my business I have wrapped up a large scale, full gut remodel of a 3,000 sq/ft house, done small scale design projects with a handful of clients and am currently renovating my first home on the side with my husband.
